Trumpet Solo!

One of those lazy nights where I'm decked out in sweats, drinking hot chocolate and teaching myself the lyrics to Flobots songs.

Scroogled? Seriously?

Have you seen the new commercials for Outlook that talk about how users are getting "scroogled" when Google uses their email to decide on ads? I've been watching it on Hulu often. So. Very. Often.

At first I thought it was ridiculous but after the 30th or 40th time, it's progressed into Hulking-out territory. Really, pretentious couple? You are upset that your free email service that offers you security, accessibility, 10gb of space and crazy reliability has ads? Little text ads?

I get that issue they are trying to sell is that Google uses your content to target its ads and they think that's, but they could have done that in a different way. This ad just comes off like people are whiny and stupid. Frankly, if there is ever a company that preys on its consumers and bilks every penny from them in the technology world, it would be Microsoft.

I'm perfectly fine with ads and how those ads provide my free awesome Gmail. Scrooged or not.
