This hymn was in our bible study this week and I thought it was very pretty. I love the third verse.
O Joy that seekest me through pain,
I cannot close my heart to thee;
I trace the rainbow through the rain,
and feel the promise is not vain,
that morn shall tearless be.
I love the visual of tracing the rainbow through the rain, placing your hope that not only with the current sadness end…but it will end with hope. A promise of a better tomorrow. A promise of something good coming out of sadness. A promise given to us by One who loves us and is always with us.
