Project 365 - Day 63 - Red!
Dancing Tire Man is wearing red pants. He's also very happy and could really move. I don't have that much rhythm and I'm not a half-person/half-tire hybrid.

Project 365 - Day 62 - Red!
The local paper here is counting about 2,000 people and that included me and my sister, standing in the snow and shouting for all we were worth. It was a very encouraging rally with lots of people speaking, including Lansing's Mayor Virg Bernero. Everyone who knows me knows that I'm not a huge fan of Virg...but he did a good job with his speech here and I was impressed with how well he handled the crowd.

Project 365 - Day 61 - Red!
Sci-fi-funny
"Why are shape shifting soldiers from another universe stealing frozen heads?"
It's said so seriously and earnestly...like it isn't the most hilarious thing ever. I love it!

Awesome Sci-Fi Driver
I saw your car with the bumper sticker "My Other Car is a TARDIS" today at Krogers. I think you are made of awesome and I want to give you a high five.
Carry on,
Me

Project 365 - Day 59
Flat crocheting! I figured it out! I wasn't sure what I was doing but all of a sudden it clicked in my head and I was able to do a proper crochet. Plus, stripes! I'm so stinking proud of myself.

Snowtorious B.I.G.
The amount of names for this storm thought up by the media astounds and amuses me. Except for ThunderBlizzard…because I feel cheated that I never heard any thunder. Promise me excessive weather and then not deliver? Not cool, storm, not cool.
I’d rather pose for pictures rather than shovel snow. Not shown: the near faceplant I took trying to book it away from the road when the snow plow rumbled past. Knee-deep snow and fast getaways don’t mix, folks.
Craigslist came through for me and we were able to hire a group to come out and shovel. Look at how much work they did! I was not sure when they pulled in and 5 of them piled out of the van with shovels…but they did a great job!

Not quite the end of the world yet…
But it is snowing! As you can tell from the picture, not only is there quite a bit of snow there, it is blowing too. The winds are somewhere in the 20mph range which makes it feel around 2° outside. Brrr.
*insert ominous music here*
Oddly, this makes me more nervous than two days worth of news coverage on the blizzard.
SNOWPOCALYPSE 2011
Fear in advance of the oncoming storm amuses me. Everyone from the government to the zoo has closed in anticipation of this great blizzard that's coming. The news makes it seem like we need to prepare our wills and the weather channel has reached a hysteria-level of coverage.
Me? I'm a bit excited about seeing thunder and lighting in the midst of a snowstorm, but other than that...it's just another snowstorm. We live in Michigan, people, getting a foot of snow in one storm is a bit of snow but nothing to freak out over. Sure, we'll have to shovel more and driving may be out until the snowplows get moving, but this isn't going to be the end of the world. We will still be here tomorrow.
(of course, there is a small chance that I'm wrong and if we all enter the new ice age tonight and end up spending the next several years fighting off wolves and trying to make our way south to warmer climates. If that happens...you all have a free pass to tell me "I told you so"!)
