Wind picks up as Michigan waits under a blizzard warning Tuesday.Fear in advance of the oncoming storm amuses me. Everyone from the government to the zoo has closed in anticipation of this great blizzard that's coming. The news makes it seem like we need to prepare our wills and the weather channel has reached a hysteria-level of coverage.
Me? I'm a bit excited about seeing thunder and lighting in the midst of a snowstorm, but other than that...it's just another snowstorm. We live in Michigan, people, getting a foot of snow in one storm is a bit of snow but nothing to freak out over. Sure, we'll have to shovel more and driving may be out until the snowplows get moving, but this isn't going to be the end of the world. We will still be here tomorrow.
(of course, there is a small chance that I'm wrong and if we all enter the new ice age tonight and end up spending the next several years fighting off wolves and trying to make our way south to warmer climates. If that happens...you all have a free pass to tell me "I told you so"!)
